Leaf Chores
This is what comes of asking my kids, Rowin and Atticus, to help pick up leaves. My wife and I improvised with the headstones.
Plato, The Reluctant Soul
Came up with a few sketches of the Greek Philosopher, PLATO. The early sketches led to more drawings, and I became so involved that he began to have his own personality take shape. It's really awesome when this happens. It reminds me of how so many characters we've come to know have influenced us: CALVIN AND HOBBES, PEANUTS, GARFIELD, FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE, and so many others. Most times my drawings don't take on any expression or personality but this guy did for some reason and I just went with it.

The Shag Mobile
The Shag mobile has arrived at the LEGO store under much anticipation from fans of the television series, Scooby Doo. I ran out (actually I drove) to the nearest lego store and grabbed the Mystery Machine right off the shelf.
I was hoping it came with the whole gang, only Shaggy, Fred and Scooby come with the mystery machine. Still cool nonetheless. It ROCKS!!! Next I have to save for the Spooky Mansion and the Lighthouse to get my Velma and Daphne to join with Fred, Shaggy, and Scooby or things just don't feel right, haha.
Loook at what pure joy looks like...

Just A Thought
This site has been seriously NEGLECTED, man.! :( Realizing my last post was in March, now's the time to reflect on my online behaviour. It seems reality can be both physical and virtual as is the case for me. It's quite cool and exciting to live in two different worlds.
Since blogger I opened up several other sites and I realized a valuable lesson in social media futility: the more sites I have the less posting I do. So I decided to revamp my sites and purging the FAT, the dead wood, as seems fit.
I will be cancelling my tumbler site as it doesn't serve my needs. I know lots of artists who love tumbler and it really is a useful social media site. Also thinking of cancelling my old website and transferring some of the content to WORDPRESS. I also want to focus more on my DEVIANT ART page and keep PINTEREST going. See how that works for me. Three might be a charm or freakin' social media nightmare. Got to get into the flow...the vibe...the NOW.

The Last of Us
Played the Last of Us on my PS3 and loved it!!! The character rendering and storyline was incredible. I actually became more involved in reading up on spores and fungal species which can be lethal in some cases. Thanks to the designers at Naughty Dog for putting together an awesome game for an old kid like me. Although my favourite weapon of choice for Joel was the modified pipe, I wanted him holding the axe in my pic since it really captures the gore factor. I went straight to ink with this one as you can see from an earlier sketch.

Bunch of Basilisks
Inspired by Harry Potter's encounter with the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, I decided to try my luck at creating Basilisk variations. These are major abstractions from the real Basilisk - a green lizard. Although artists have creative license, we do base creations on some foundational knowledge, even if it spring boards off some minor detail.
The original artwork (below) has undergone some colour add ons in Photoshop while using a digital tablet. Most times I like to leave the sketches raw, but couldn't resist the temptation, in this case, to add some finishing touches in colour.

Good Cop - BAD COP
Working on a new series called GOOD COP - BAD COP. It's only in the design stage at the moment and the story follows two characters who don't play by the rules and continually find themselves in the Captain's office.
Here are some early character sketches. The concept behind the designs reflects stereotypical police officers with an edge. It would have been too obvious if each character was designed around good and bad personas so I decided to toil with the idea that in each of us can be lurking a good and a bad regardless of our outward appearances. These designs might change down the line...

My Sirens
Happy belated New Year to everyone. The new year brought me some new gadgets along with new work. It's been crazy busy for me as it often gets and time management becomes paramount during those times. Unfortunately the daily sketch is often sacrificed when time constraints become extra critical. THAT SUCKS!!! since daily sketch is the time I can be most impulsive and to just allow my creative flow to wander.
While my wife, friends and colleagues are my fiercest critics and loving supporters of my work, the anvil has fallen on me lately to time manage more effectively even if it means waking up earlier and posting stuff more timely. Artists are in the business of inspiration and inspire we must, especially for the ones who really count on it. Thanks for all the talks and reminders, guys.
Here is the first daily sketch for 2015... :)
