The Last of Us
Played the Last of Us on my PS3 and loved it!!! The character rendering and storyline was incredible. I actually became more involved in reading up on spores and fungal species which can be lethal in some cases. Thanks to the designers at Naughty Dog for putting together an awesome game for an old kid like me. Although my favourite weapon of choice for Joel was the modified pipe, I wanted him holding the axe in my pic since it really captures the gore factor. I went straight to ink with this one as you can see from an earlier sketch.

Bunch of Basilisks
Inspired by Harry Potter's encounter with the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, I decided to try my luck at creating Basilisk variations. These are major abstractions from the real Basilisk - a green lizard. Although artists have creative license, we do base creations on some foundational knowledge, even if it spring boards off some minor detail.
The original artwork (below) has undergone some colour add ons in Photoshop while using a digital tablet. Most times I like to leave the sketches raw, but couldn't resist the temptation, in this case, to add some finishing touches in colour.

Good Cop - BAD COP
Working on a new series called GOOD COP - BAD COP. It's only in the design stage at the moment and the story follows two characters who don't play by the rules and continually find themselves in the Captain's office.
Here are some early character sketches. The concept behind the designs reflects stereotypical police officers with an edge. It would have been too obvious if each character was designed around good and bad personas so I decided to toil with the idea that in each of us can be lurking a good and a bad regardless of our outward appearances. These designs might change down the line...

My Sirens
Happy belated New Year to everyone. The new year brought me some new gadgets along with new work. It's been crazy busy for me as it often gets and time management becomes paramount during those times. Unfortunately the daily sketch is often sacrificed when time constraints become extra critical. THAT SUCKS!!! since daily sketch is the time I can be most impulsive and to just allow my creative flow to wander.
While my wife, friends and colleagues are my fiercest critics and loving supporters of my work, the anvil has fallen on me lately to time manage more effectively even if it means waking up earlier and posting stuff more timely. Artists are in the business of inspiration and inspire we must, especially for the ones who really count on it. Thanks for all the talks and reminders, guys.

Mad Eye Moody
MAD EYE is the next installment in my series of Harry Potter sketches. The challenge with sketching these guys is trying to capture their essence and not trying to caricature the actors. Often difficult since the actors bring so much of the character to life. My interpretation of Mad Eye is that of a bad ass wizard who hasn't had the luxury of pondering life philosophically. Mad eye doesn't prefer a wand like his peers. He follows in the footsteps of his wizarding predecessors of Tolkien's Middle Earth, Saruman, Gandalf and the other wizards who all carry staves.

Harry Potter
My attempt at Harry Potter. For me the Harry Potter marathon begins with the Philosopher's Stone. Hence my younger version of Harry while watching the films. Since the films were usually released during Christmas time, I've carried on my own viewing tradition of watching the movies chronologically back-to-back. Occasionally a sketch pops up, just like this one. It's so easy to be inspired by the series since its so rich with character development. On to the next one...
